To find the equation of a line you need to have a few points then find the slope. Say the points you have are (1,4) and (2,8). To find the slope you use the equation M= y2-y1 divided by x2-x1. You plug in the numbers so its m= 8-4 divided by 2-1. Simplify it and you get 4 over 1, which is just 4. That's your slope. Next, you need to put it into slope intercept form. You need to use the point slope equation, which is y-y1=m(x-x1). Plug in the numbers and you get y-4=4(x-1). distribute and you get y-4=4x-4. add 4 to both sides and you should get y=4x
